Indoor Gardens.
Plants have such a positive effect on us, both physically and spirutally. Taking care of indoor plants can transform both you AND your home.
Ask the experts.
Check each room in the house for light levels. For example, is it dark in the living room in the morning but full sun at midday. Then get a general idea of temperature. Do you have central heating 6 months of the year or do you have an open window policy, no matter the temperature? All these factors will inform the choice of plants. Then go to your local plant store and ask them to show you which plants would be best for those areas.
Living Art
Plants are like living pieces of art. Their leaves, colours and shapes need to be considererd when designing and decorating a room. Keep in mind the scale. A plant that is too small will look skimpy and a plant that is too big will make the room look unbalanced.
Plant Care 101
Palms, bamboo and succulents (cactus) make excellent indoor plants for beginners. They don’t need much more than sunlight and light watering. Ask your nursery staff to show you hardy plants that require little care.
